Ultimea Thor
Repair Centre
We are the UK's specialist repair centre for the Thor T60 Laser TV. We restore the stunning Rec.2020 colour accuracy and geometric precision of your triple-laser system using factory-standard calibration tools.
Technician's Note:
"The Thor T60 uses a sophisticated RGB laser engine to achieve Dolby Vision standards. Unlike single-laser units, any dust ingress on the Red or Green diodes creates significant colour shifts. We perform deep cleaning of the sealed optical block to restore the vivid BT.2020 colour gamut."
— Head of Laser Optics
Mastering the RGB Laser Engine
Ultimea's decision to use discrete Red, Green, and Blue lasers (Tri-Color) delivers exceptional colour volume but introduces complex maintenance requirements. The precise alignment of these three light beams determines the sharpness and colour purity of the image.
Laser Speckle & Clarity: While RGB lasers are bright, they can suffer from 'speckle'. The Thor T60 uses vibrating optical elements to mitigate this. If these micro-actuators fail, the image becomes grainy. We repair these delicate mechanical components to restore a smooth, cinematic picture.
Dolby Vision Handshake: We frequently see mainboard logic failures where the projector fails to switch into Dolby Vision mode or loses HDMI signal (HDCP error). We perform component-level repairs on the HDMI input board to resolve handshake conflicts with consoles and streaming sticks.
RGB Alignment
Re-convergence of the triple laser beams for sharp, colour-fringing-free images.
Mainboard Logic
Repairing boot loops, Android TV crashes, and HDMI signal loss.
Quiet Cooling
Replacing bearing-worn fans to maintain the silent operation required for home cinema.
UST Geometry
Mechanical adjustment of the mirror array to fix curved image tops/bottoms.
Ultimea Thor Error Database
The Thor T60 communicates status via LED indicators and on-screen Android TV messages. Use this matrix to identify your issue.
| Indicator / Message | Likely Fault | Engineer's Note |
|---|---|---|
| Power LED Flashes Red | Thermal Protection | The unit is overheating. This is common if the rear intake vents are placed too close to a wall. If ventilation is clear, an internal fan has failed. |
| "Fan Error" On-Screen | Cooling System Failure | The RPM sensor on one of the cooling fans is reading zero. The system will shut down automatically to save the laser diodes. |
| Stuck on "Ultimea" Logo | Firmware Corruption | The Android TV OS has failed to boot. This can occur after a failed update or power cut. We can perform a hardware-level firmware re-flash. |
| Geometric Distortion | Optical Displacement | The image looks curved or warped even after digital correction. The internal mirror array has shifted due to shock/impact. Requires mechanical realignment. |
| No Image (Fan Spinning) | Laser Driver Fault | The power supply is working, but the laser engine is not firing. Indicates a failure on the laser driver board or a loose ribbon cable. |
