VAVA Projector
Repair Centre
We are the UK's leading repair centre for **VAVA**. Whether it's the original **4K UST** or the flagship **Chroma**, we restore the geometric precision and laser brilliance of your device using genuine parts.
Technician's Note:
"The VAVA Chroma uses **ALPD® 4.0 Triple Laser** technology. This provides incredible colour depth but is sensitive to dust ingress. If one laser bank becomes obscured, the colour balance shifts significantly. We perform deep cleaning and re-calibration of the RGB laser engine."

Common VAVA Faults & Fixes
VAVA Laser TVs are marvels of compact engineering, packing high-brightness lasers into a sleek chassis. However, this density creates thermal challenges. Heat is the enemy of the delicate optical components inside.
DMD Chip Failure (White Dots): This is the most frequent issue. The 0.47" DMD chip runs hot, and if the thermal paste dries out (usually after 3-4 years), pixels seize. This creates white or black "stars" on the screen. We replace the chip and upgrade the cooling interface to prevent recurrence.
Geometric Distortion: The Ultra Short Throw lens and mirror array must be perfectly aligned. If the unit is knocked, the image top can become curved. We use an optical bench to mechanically realign the mirror path, fixing geometry that digital keystone cannot correct.
Android System Corruption: Power surges can corrupt the internal Android OS, causing the projector to hang on the VAVA logo. We can unbrick these units by reflashing the firmware directly to the mainboard eMMC chip.
RGB Laser
Calibration of ALPD® 4.0 Triple Laser engines for Rec.2020 accuracy.
DMD Repair
Replacing DLP chips to fix "Starry Night" dead pixel syndrome.
Silent Cooling
Replacement of worn fans to restore whisper-quiet operation and prevent shutdowns.
UST Geometry
Mechanical adjustment of the mirror array to fix curved image tops.
VAVA Error Code Database
VAVA projectors communicate status via the Power LED and on-screen messages. Use this matrix to identify your issue.
| Indicator / Message | Likely Fault | Engineer's Note |
|---|---|---|
| Power LED: Solid Red | System Hardware Failure | The unit has detected a critical hardware fault on boot. Usually related to the laser driver board or main power supply (PSU). |
| "High Temperature" Warning | Thermal Shutdown | The sensors detect unsafe heat. The unit shuts down to protect the laser. Check side vents for dust blockage. If clear, a fan has failed. |
| Stuck on VAVA Logo | Boot Loop (OS) | The Android system cannot load. This indicates firmware corruption or eMMC failure. Requires hardware-level flashing. |
| Power LED: Pulsing White (No Image) | DMD / Light Engine | The system is booting, but no image appears. If you hear the fan but see no light, the laser driver or DMD formatter board is faulty. |
| White/Black Dots on Screen | DMD Chip Failure | Not a software error. The micromirrors on the DLP chip have seized due to heat. Requires replacement of the DMD chip. |
Supported VAVA Models
