Wemax Projector
Repair Centre
We are the UK's leading repair centre for **Wemax**. From the flagship **Nova 4K UST** to the ultra-portable **Go Advanced**, we restore the geometric precision and laser brilliance of your device.
Technician's Note:
"Wemax projectors utilise **Appotronics ALPD®** laser technology. This hybrid system uses a high-speed phosphor wheel to create rich colours. If you hear a whining noise or see colour flickering, the phosphor wheel bearing is likely failing. We replace these precision mechanical parts to restore silent operation."

Common Wemax Faults & Fixes
Wemax delivers cinema-grade laser projection in compact form factors. However, the density of these devices means heat management is critical. When airflow is compromised, the high-performance components begin to degrade.
ToF Auto-Focus Failure: The **Go Advanced** and **Vogue** models use a Time-of-Flight sensor for instant focus. Dust on the sensor or a shock from dropping the unit can misalign this system, resulting in a permanently blurry image. We recalibrate the sensor array and repair the lens motor.
DMD Chip Failure (White Dots): Like many 4K shifters, the 0.47" DMD chip runs hot. If the thermal paste dries out, pixels seize, creating white or black spots. We replace the chip and use industrial-grade thermal interface material to extend the lifespan of the repair.
ALPD® Engine
Re-alignment of laser banks and phosphor wheels for colour accuracy.
Android / FengOS
Unbricking mainboards stuck in boot loops or with casting errors.
ToF Focus
Calibration of auto-focus and auto-keystone sensors for sharp geometry.
DMD Repair
Replacing DLP chips to fix "Starry Night" dead pixel syndrome.
Wemax Error Code Database
Wemax projectors communicate status via on-screen prompts (FengOS) or LED sequences. Use this matrix to identify your issue.
| Indicator / Message | Likely Fault | Engineer's Note |
|---|---|---|
| "System Temperature High" | Thermal Shutdown | The unit shuts down to protect the laser. Usually caused by blocked side intake vents on the Nova or a failed fan in the Go Advanced. Requires deep cleaning. |
| "Fan Error" / Loud Noise | Fan Bearing Failure | The system detects a fan running below target RPM. On small units like the Go, this is critical. A loud whirring noise usually precedes total failure. |
| Stuck on Boot Logo | OS Corruption | The FengOS/Android system cannot load. This requires a firmware re-flash or replacement of the main logic board (eMMC failure). |
| Auto-Focus Fails / Blurry | ToF Sensor / Motor | The Time-of-Flight sensor is dirty or the lens motor gears have stripped. We clean the sensor window and rebuild the focus mechanism. |
| No Image (Light On) | DMD / Formatter Board | The laser is firing, but no image is formed. This indicates the DMD chip is not receiving data from the mainboard. |
