Where Precision is Paramount

In simulation, the projector is not just a display; it is the environment. For pilots, ship captains, and F1 drivers, visual fidelity is critical for training efficacy. A single pixel out of alignment, a slight colour drift between channels, or a latency spike can break immersion and invalidate entire training exercises.

We understand the unique mechanical stresses placed on simulation hardware. Motion Platforms (6-DOF) subject projection engines to immense G-forces and vibration. This can rattle optical blocks loose, crack solder joints on mainboards, and shift lens elements out of focus. Our repair protocols include the use of military-grade thread-lock compounds and reinforced mounting solutions to ensure optical stability under vibration.

Furthermore, we specialise in Night Vision Goggle (NVG) stimulation. Many military simulators require projectors with a dedicated IR (Infrared) light engine to stimulate actual NVG equipment. We have the capability to test and calibrate the IR output to ensure it matches realistic moonlight or starlight conditions, crucial for tactical night operation training.

Security Cleared Personnel

We work with the MOD, Aviation Training Centres, and Automotive R&D. Our staff hold relevant security clearances (SC/DV) for on-site work in restricted zones. We adhere to strict NDA and data protection protocols.

Barco FS40 Simulation Projector
NVG READY

Barco F-Series

F70 / F90 / FS40 (IR)

These solid-state LED/Laser projectors are the workhorses of modern simulation. Common faults include Phosphor Wheel motor seizure and failures in the Pulse electronics platform.

  • IR Engine: Calibration of separate IR LED engine for NVG stimulation.
  • Ruggedisation: Repairing shock-mounts for motion platform use.
Christie M 4K25 RGB Pure Laser

Christie Mirage / M-Series

M 4K25 RGB / Mirage 4K

Christie's RGB Pure Laser systems deliver Rec.2020 colour volume and high frame rates (120Hz/240Hz) essential for fast-jet simulation. We maintain the TruLife+ electronics and precision cooling systems.

  • Stereo 3D: Sync signal repair for active shutter glasses.
  • Laser Bank: Individual diode module replacement and white-point balancing.
Sony GH10 Optical Block
SXRD COMPONENT

Sony VPL / GTZ Series

GH10 / VPL-GTZ280

The Sony GH10 Optical Block is a legendary component in visual systems but suffers from wire-grid polarizer degradation. This manifests as a severe loss of contrast and a yellow/blue haze over the image.

  • Optical Block Refurb: We strip the GH10 block and replace degraded polarizers, restoring native contrast.
  • Smearing Fix: Panel alignment for fast-motion clarity.

Geometry & Colourimetry

Replacing a faulty projector in a multi-channel dome or curved screen setup is rarely "plug and play". The new unit must be perfectly colour-matched to its neighbours and warped to fit the screen geometry.

We offer On-Site Calibration Services. Using industrial colourimeters and warping software (such as Scalable Display Manager or manufacturer tools), we ensure seamless blending zones. We also adjust black levels in the overlap regions to ensure the blend is invisible, even during night scenes.

CASE STUDY

Flight Simulator Restoration

Challenge: A commercial pilot training centre faced intermittent shutdowns on their 3-channel Christie Matrix system, costing £2000/hr in lost training revenue.

Solution: Our diagnosis revealed vibration-induced fractures on the PSU solder joints. We reinforced the boards with epoxy and re-calibrated the edge blends onsite.

Simulation Service FAQ

Can you repair projectors on motion platforms?

Yes. Motion platforms subject projectors to high G-forces. We inspect internal mounting points, secure loose optics with thread-lock where appropriate, and repair vibration-damaged solder joints.

Do you have loan units for simulators?

Due to the specific lens options and resolutions (WQXGA/4K) used in simulation, loan units are subject to availability. However, we prioritise simulation repairs to minimise simulator downtime.

How do you handle NVG projectors?

We understand ITAR restrictions and the sensitivity of NVG hardware. We can repair the core projection engine while ensuring the IR-cut filters remain intact and calibrated.
